12.  Thrips: Retithrips syriacus (Thripidae: Thysanoptera)

Damage symptoms: Nymphs and adults feed on the upper surface of the leaves.  Affected leaves give a shiny appearance.  It is also found on cotton and rose.

Bionomics: Pinkish nymph, black adult with fringed wings.
